Vinification: Part of our “drought years series”, we were lucky enough to get some zin from our friends up at Porter Creek in Sonoma. Old vines biodynamically farmed right on the Russian River. Apple trees planted around the block with Geese roaming through the rows, a beautiful place! We brought the zin home and made it our style, whole cluster skin maceration with half ageing in extreme neutral Italian Terracotta amphora and half in old neutral oak. You can actually taste the Zin varietal which is quite lovely.

Tasting Notes: “I make no bones about it to anyone who asks. Zin is not my favorite quaff. All that jammy fruit forward stuff, mmmh? No surprise we made something different. 13.4% alc., almost subdued. Of course there’s tons of fruit, it’s Zin, but there’s a lot more also. For me, very young, as such it’s rambunctious and excitable, and, fun. Zinfandel is the most Chameleon style grape on the planet. Drink now for fun, drink later for surprises.” Phillip Hart, owner

Attractive ruby red with garnet color edges, raspberry, red plum ad white pepper aromas. Smooth and delicious red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and rhubarb flavors. Purple flowers, nutmeg spice and cranberry. Some smooth tannins with yummy acidity and a long finish.
